Three steps, about a minute.

Open the bot
Start @BittensorMessengerBot in Telegram. It sends you one command.

Prove you hold a hotkey
Run it with btcli and paste the reply back. It is a signature, not a transaction: nothing is sent and nothing is spent.

Write
Find anyone by hotkey, or by UID in a subnet. A first message arrives as a request, and they choose to accept or decline.

One line of plain text, under 256 bytes. A transaction always ends with two 32-byte hashes, so this line can never be one.
btcli signs it on your machine. We check the signature against your public address. Your key files never leave your computer.
We never ask for your coldkey, your password or your mnemonic. If someone sent you this command, do not run it.

Reach any miner or the subnet owner by UID, with no hunting for handles in Discord.
Subnet owners
Write to every UID in your subnet, only miners or only validators, or to any UID directly. A delivery log shows who got it.

What we can see, and what we can't
We see
Your message while we deliver it. We do not store it afterwards.
Which hotkey belongs to which Telegram account. It is stored encrypted, the address included.
Which UIDs you talk to, so your chat list works.
No one you talk to sees
Your Telegram account, your name or your phone number. They see your UID and hotkey only.
Which other hotkeys are yours. A subnet owner sees UIDs, never people.
Anything from your wallet. We never ask for it.
